Recovery Ally Training
Stronger Communities CIC offers Recovery Ally Training to local organisations who want to build a more inclusive and supportive environment for people in recovery. This training equips staff, volunteers, and community leaders with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to recognise the challenges of addiction and recovery, reduce stigma, and act as effective allies in the workplace and community.
A Recovery Ally is someone who understands the principles of recovery, knows how to respond with empathy, and can signpost people to the right support at the right time. By embedding Recovery Allies across organisations, we create a stronger culture of understanding, reduce barriers to access, and open new opportunities for people to sustain recovery. For organisations, this training adds real value by improving staff awareness, strengthening wellbeing strategies, and demonstrating commitment to inclusion and social responsibility.
Developing a culturally competent training pack & training
In addition, Stronger Communities CIC has developed a BAME-focused Training Pack to help organisations review and improve their cultural competence. This resource guides teams through a structured process of assessing existing pathways, reflecting on gaps, and identifying practical changes to ensure services are genuinely inclusive and accessible to BAME and other underserved communities.
By rolling out this training pack, organisations can strengthen their ability to meet diverse needs, build trust with communities who often feel excluded from mainstream services, and ensure that recovery pathways are equitable for all. The pack not only raises awareness but also provides tools for action, enabling services to adjust their approaches, challenge unconscious bias, and create meaningful partnerships with BAME-led groups. In doing so, it supports better outcomes for individuals while helping organisations align with equality, diversity, and inclusion priorities.
